Jammu: BJP leader and MLA West Constituency, Arvind Gupta, accused the Congress party of betraying Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals and neglecting his contributions to the nation. He asserted that Congress systematically sidelined Ambedkar throughout his lifetime and has now resorted to political opportunism by falsely claiming his legacy.
The MLA was speaking after inaugurating development work for installing new gratings worth Rs 33 lakhs in Ward No. 29, Main Bazaar, Shakti Nagar.
Arvind lambasted the Congress for undermining Ambedkar’s vision of social justice and failing to uplift marginalized communities during its prolonged rule.
“Congress has only used Dalits and backward sections as a vote bank while doing little to empower them. Their decades of governance lacked genuine commitment to social justice,” he said.
Arvind contrasted this with the BJP’s approach, highlighting the Modi government’s initiatives like the development of Panch Teerth to honor Ambedkar’s contributions and numerous welfare schemes designed to uplift the underprivileged.
“Unlike Congress, which only indulged in lip service, the BJP has taken concrete steps to realize Ambedkar’s dream of an equitable and progressive society,” he added.
While interacting with people at Shakti Nagar, Arvind Gupta reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has ensured that every section of society, especially the marginalized, gets the benefits of welfare schemes without any discrimination. The Congress merely gave slogans, but Modi Govt has transformed lives with our work,” he emphasized.
Arvind reiterated his dedication to addressing public issues and ensuring holistic development in his constituency.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mandal President Kushant Daffara, ex-Corporator Surinder Choudhary, ex-Mandal President, AEE PWD Neeraj Chopra, and senior BJP leader Atul Bakshi. Several BJP Karyakartas, including Mohit Vaid, Sanjay Verma, Renu Choudhary, Suresh Gupta, Hira Lal, Suresh Verma, and Akshay, were also present.
