Dogra Law College celebrates Spectacular Law Fest 2025: Jashan-e-Aghaz 2.0

Dogra Law College proudly organized Jashan-e-Aghaz 2.0: The Law Fest 2025, a grand celebration of talent, culture, and legal scholarship. This much-anticipated event served as an inspiring platform for students to showcase their extraordinary skills, leaving an indelible mark on the academic community.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Vanshika Balgotra, a student of the B.A.LL.B. 5-Year 9th Semester. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana, set an auspicious tone for the day.
Renowned radio personality RJ Shan hosted the event, captivating the audience with his vibrant energy and engaging interactions. The program was graced by esteemed guests, including Sh. Satish Sharma, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, and Sh. Romalo Ram Ji, Padma Shri Awardee, as the Special Guest.
A major highlight of the event was the Display Your Talent contest, judged by RJ Shwetima and Ms. Shuchi Sharma. Students showcased a diverse range of captivating performances, including a stunning dance routine by Bhavya and Sanjam (B.A.LL.B. 3rd Semester), heartfelt Shayari by Mehr-ul-Nisa and Justice Singh (1st and 3rd Semesters), and energetic Bhangra routines by Vaishnavi, Shewani, and Mannat Angral (1st Semester).
The cultural richness of the fest was further elevated by classical dance performances, Dogri folk songs, and singing by talented students such as Bhoomi, Mehak Bali, Antriksh Aazad, and Tejvansh. A mesmerizing fusion dance by Farheen and Zara (3rd Semester) and a traditional Gatka performance by the college’s team enthralled the audience. Additionally, a special Dogri dance performance by students of Rich Harvest School added charm and diversity to the festivities.
The distinguished Chief Guest, Sh. Satish Sharma, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of education and youth empowerment. He highlighted the role of education in nurturing responsible citizens and stressed the significance of cultural unity. Urging students to value their heritage while aspiring for greatness, his words resonated deeply with the attendees.
Padma Shri Awardee Sh. Romalo Ram Ji delivered a motivational address, underlining the importance of preserving traditional values while embracing modern education. He acknowledged the profound contribution of Dogra culture to the region’s legacy and spoke passionately about women empowerment. “Women excel everywhere,” he stated, lauding the remarkable achievements of women across various fields.
The event concluded with Presidential remarks from Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of the Dogra Educational Trust (DET). He commended the students for their remarkable contributions to the event and congratulated the organizers for its success. The Chief Guest and Special Guest were felicitated with commemorative mementos, and participants were honored for their creative performances.
The day ended on a high note with a live performance by the popular band For U, which added a musical touch to the celebrations. The Law Fest 2025 was a resounding success, uniting students, faculty, and guests in a vibrant celebration of talent, inspiration, and the enduring spirit of Dogra culture.
