Girdhari Lal Raina questioned rationale behind Omar Abdullah’s recurrent rushing to Delhi instead of focussing on improvements they promised in governance in Jammu Kashmir.
Girdhari Lal Raina and Gourav Gupta, BJP Spokespersons along with Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, BJP Media Secretary were addressing a press conference at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Raina said that the Chief Minister is seeking “liberal funding” for J&K on one side and condemning tourists visiting UT as a cultural invasion. How do you justify your demand for enhancing financial support to the UT for minimizing liabilities while at the same time creating new liabilities by spending unproductive and unnecessary expenditures like the purchase of vehicles for Ministers?
NC and successive governments in Jammu Kashmir for decades have pushed the state to complete dependence on central funding instead of creating its own resources and expanding revenue collection.
BJP government has ensured long term financial reforms in J&K to consolidate financial management, create new resources and plug leakages.
Budget size expanded from around Rupees 38068 Crores in 2013-14 to over Rupees 1, 18000 crores in 2023-24. Capital expenditure was enhanced to around Rupees 36904 crores from mere 9074 crores in 2013-14.
Raina pointed out the double standards of NC government which uses ornamental jargon like “collaborative efforts with the Central Government” to enhance financial stability and promote sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir. And in the same breath use divisive language against the Parliament terming its sovereign right to legislate as “betrayal of the people of Jammu and Kashmir” and denounce it as a “mockery of democracy”.
Raina asked people to remain cautious and seek accountability from the government for their poll promises.
Gourav Gupta extended gratitude and congratulations to PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the historic launch of the BharatPol Portal. This transformative initiative marks a significant leap forward in India’s fight against transnational crimes, including cybercrimes, online radicalization, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
Previously, whenever a fugitive committed a crime and escaped, our police had to report the matter to the CBI, which then worked with Interpol to. This process could delay swift action.
With the launch of BharatPol, local police and investigative officers can directly upload crime and fugitive-related information onto the BharatPol portal, which is connected to Interpol ensuring that law enforcement agencies can act swiftly and efficiently.
This initiative is not just about technological advancement; it is a reflection of the progressive vision of PM Modi and HM Shah. Their leadership continues to drive India towards becoming a global leader in security and law enforcement, said Gourav Gupta.
