The Indian Army, responding to popular demand from the residents of Gei in Doda, organized a friendly volleyball match between two local teams. The initiative was part of the “Khelo India” program aimed at promoting sportsmanship, unity, and youth engagement.
The match featured 20 players from diverse castes, creeds, and religions, reflecting the harmonious spirit of the region. The players demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and healthy competition throughout the game, which turned out to be a thrilling contest till the final moments. The event sought to nurture a competitive spirit among the youth while providing a platform for them to showcase their sporting talent. The volleyball match attracted a significant number of spectators, including families, friends, and other community members, who watched with keen interest and enthusiasm. After the match, the Company Commander distributed prizes to the participants as a token of appreciation for their stellar performance. The prizes were warmly received by the players, who expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such an event.
