Kanpur witnessed a disturbing incident on New Year’s Eve, where women were molested and assaulted during a celebration at a high-profile restaurant in the Kohna police station area. The police have registered a case and initiated action against the accused individuals.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on December 31 at a restaurant near Company Bagh Square. According to reports, a businessman from Kidwai Nagar, who was celebrating with his wife and friends, alleged that his wife faced indecent behavior from the restaurant owner and his associates when she went to the restroom.
Upon protesting, the businessman was allegedly attacked by the owner and his staff.
The altercation escalated, leading to chaos within the restaurant. The police were alerted through Dial 112, prompting a team from Kohna police station to rush to the scene. Authorities have assured swift action, stating that efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
