High-Level Delegation of JKFTA Submits Memorandum to Minister for School Education

A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Federation of Teachers Association (JKFTA) in presence of Chairperson DDC Ramban Dr. Shamshad Shan, and MLA Banihal Sajad Shaheen, submitted a memorandum to the Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare Department, Sakeena Masood Itoo, at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu. comprising Chairperson
The memorandum submitted by Gulzubair Daing, President JKFTA, highlighted pressing issues affecting teacher welfare and educational development in Jammu and Kashmir. Key demands included implementing a gender-sensitive transfer policy for Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers, filling vacant Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) positions, rationalizing staff based on the pupil-teacher ratio (PTR), and exempting teachers from non-teaching assignments.
The delegation also emphasized the need for time-bound promotions, regularization of in-charge lecturers, implementation of the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme, and creating master posts in upper primary and middle schools to enhance teaching quality.
The delegation thanked the Minister for the recent adjustment of newly promoted Masters and urged further action to address the remaining challenges faced by educators.
Prominent members of JKFTA included Mr. Saleem Choudary, Mr. Sarjeet Singh Katoch (District President Ramban), Mr. Ikram ul Haq, Mr. Nayeem Rathore, Mr. Mohd Javeed, Mr. Jamal Din, Mr. Jagdish Chander, Mr. Farooq Choudary, and Mr. Amit Sharma. Female representatives such as Miss Indu Sharma, Ms. Sunayna Bhagat, Ms. Mamta Rani, Ms. Renu Bandral, Ms. Poonam Chib, and Ms. Neelam Rakhwal were also part of the delegation.
The Minister assured the delegation of her commitment to addressing these issues and comprehensive action.
JKFTA extended its gratitude to the Minister for her proactive approach. The Federation also thanked Chairperson DDC Ramban, and MLA Banihal, for their significant contributions and consistent support for advancing educational standards in the region.
