Lt Ira Vermani, Associate NCC Officer (ANO) from Army Public School (APS) Kaluchak, has brought immense pride to the NCC Directorate of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh (JK&L) with her exceptional performance at the Pre-Commission Course (PRCN) SW-111 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gwalior. A subject matter expert in Clinical Psychology, Lt Vermani’s dedication and leadership skills earned her the prestigious Rolling Trophy and Certificate of Excellence in Leadership & Motivation. Additionally, she received a Certificate of Excellence for her outstanding performance in delivering lectures on Instructional Practice (IP).
Lt Vermani demonstrated an unwavering commitment throughout the intensive 75-day course. Her determination was exemplified by the sacrifices she made, such as leaving her six-year-old son in the care of her parents to focus entirely on her training. Her success is a testament to her “Victorious Will,” a characteristic she described as being in the DNA of the JK&L Directorate. Lt Vermani’s exemplary performance sets a high standard for others, leaving a lasting legacy within the Directorate.
Beyond her academic achievements, Lt Vermani played a pivotal role as part of the editorial team for the OTA Gwalior Newsletter, alongside Lt (Dr) Rukhsana Kousar. Together, they contributed to covering the course’s activities comprehensively, capturing its essence and creating a holistic record of the training experience.
Lt Vermani was not the only ANO from the JK&L Directorate to shine during the course. Lt (Dr) Rukhsana Kousar from Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur and Lt Eshrat Ara from GCW MA Road, Srinagar, also completed the course with flying colors, securing “A” grades. The collective achievements of these officers underscore the dedication, determination, and devotion that ANOs from the region bring to their roles.
Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate JK&L, felicitated the achievers and praised their remarkable accomplishments. He commended their efforts in embodying leadership qualities and setting an inspiring example for the youth of the region. Maj Gen Bevli also extended his appreciation to the principals of APS Kaluchak, GCW Udhampur, and GCW MA Road, Srinagar, for selecting ANOs who exemplify excellence and are capable of leading from the front.
