In order to strengthen the bond between the police and the public, a Police Community Partnership Group(PCPG) meeting was organized by Police Station Bishnah in the Khairi area with the respectables/youth of Gujjar community.The meeting saw the participation of about 300 residents including youth as well as lot of women of the Khairi and such other adjacent habitations.
The event was chaired by SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh-JKPS, accompanied by SP Headquarters Jammu, Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS, SDPO R.S Pura Nikhil Gogna-JKPS and SHO Bishnah Sushil Choudhary.
Various issues were discussed during the meeting, some related to the police department and others to the civil administration. Several respectables of the Gujjar community raised their issues/grievances before SSP Jammu during this interaction.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Jammu assured the residents that their grievances would be resolved at the earliest. He sought the community’s cooperation in tackling serious issues such as drug abuse, bovine smuggling and theft incidents, emphasizing that some mischievous elements are involved in such activities in District Jammu.
The SSP highlighted the importance of education ,games,Sports and encouraged the community to take advantage of government schemes designed for their upliftment.He also urged them to send their children for dairy farming training programs, which could provide additional livelihood opportunities and also adopt latest dairy technologies to boost their income .
As the area is located not far from the International Border (IB), SSP Jammu advised residents to remain vigilant and immediately inform the police in case of any suspicious movements in the vicinity.
The community appreciated the efforts of Jammu Police in organizing such meetings, which play a vital role in bridging the gap between the police and the public.They also assured their full cooperation and support to the police department in maintaining law and order. Such initiatives by the Jammu Police reflect their commitment to fostering trust and collaboration with the community while ensuring the safety and security of the region.
