Five army soldiers were killed and several injured after their vehicle met with a tragic road accident near a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, officials said.
Quoting officials reported that the Army vehicle en-route from Nilam Headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post met with an accident near Ghora Post.
“Ten soldiers were injured while five of them suffered critical injuries, who later succumbed to their injuries,” they said, adding that a total of 18 soldiers were onboard the vehicle when the accident took place.
Reports said that a major rescue operation was launched at the accident site, and that several soldiers are reported to have been injured.
Army’s White Knight Corps extended its deepest condolences on the tragic loss of soldiers.
“All ranks of #WhiteKnightCorps extend their deepest condolences on the tragic loss of five brave soldiers in a vehicle accident during operational duty in the #Poonch sector. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the injured personnel are receiving medical care,” White Knight Corps in a post on X said.
