A three-day training programme for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) of Inderwal and Nagseni blocks, organized under the ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ initiative of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), concluded successfully today.
The training was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, Programme Officer, ICDS Kishtwar, with coordinated management by Dr. Najieb Latief, CDPO Nagseni, and Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, CDPO Inderwal.
During the training, a series of expert-led sessions provided Anganwadi Workers with valuable insights into teaching methodologies for pre-primary students and early childhood education practices at Anganwadi Centres.
Special emphasis was laid on Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) and motor nerve development education, facilitated by Kidzee International School, Kishtwar. In addition, a dedicated session on phonetics was delivered by phonetics specialist Lokesh Sharma, enhancing the AWWs’ ability to improve language skills among young learners. Food Safety Officer Farooq Ahmed delivered an insightful lecture on maintaining nutrition and hygiene standards at Anganwadi Centres, while Dr. Nazir Ahmed, Health Officer, provided guidance on health and wellness practices for children.
The programme also witnessed the active participation of CDPOs from Kishtwar and Drabshalla, including Dr. Rahida Banoo, along with supervisors from both blocks, who ensured seamless execution of the event. Programme Officer ICDS Kishtwar, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma emphasised the Anganwadi Workers, to implement the knowledge and skills acquired during the training in their respective centres.
He emphasized that initiatives like ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ aim to not only address nutritional needs but also provide a strong foundation for holistic childhood development.
