Warning of launching agitation at district level
DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
jammu, Dec 5
Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has demanded to declare Jammu as the permanent capital of J&K and to bring tourist places of Jammu division on tourism map, allocate separate budget for development. An awareness program was organized in the party’s state central office regarding the above demands. On this occasion, state chief Manish Sahni said in his address that despite being larger than Kashmir in terms of area and population, the Jammu division has not been given justice in terms of assembly and Lok Sabha seats. This is the main reason that in the 77 years of history of merger with India, no Hindu has been able to become the Chief Minister till date.
BJP, which has been making political gains on the above issues, also did nothing during its rule. Sahni said that the development of road and rail routes has caused a lot of damage to the trade and economy of Jammu. By declaring Jammu as the permanent capital, the economy will get a boost, the allegations of discriminatory attitude towards Jammu will come to an end and the impact of weather and terrorist activities on administrative work can be avoided.
Along with this, a demand was made to allocate a separate budget for the development of tourist places of Jammu division and to give a place on the tourism map. Sahni said that the promise of development by identifying 38 tourist places of the Jammu division in 2021 is still incomplete. Sahni has warned of agitation at the district level if there will be no positive signal from the government and has appealed to the general public to support the campaign. On this occasion President women wing Meenakshi chhibber, Working President Jai Bharti, Secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple ,Nitin were present.
