Samaira, Tamanna, Puneesh among 9 emerge UT Champions

JAMMU: Indian Hawks Roller Skating Club (IHRSC) has once again proven its dominance on the rink and in road races, clinching an impressive 45 medals at the J&K UT Skating Championship with 9 emerging as State Champions in various categories. The club’s outstanding performance has not only brought home numerous accolades but also solidified its reputation as one of the top skating institutions in the region.
Samaira Gandotra, Tamanna Saini, Puneesh Puri and Vanshaj Sharma remained unbeatable by clinching three gold medals each and emerging as UT Champions along with five others who also made a mark by topping in the medal tally in their respective age categories. The other medal winners include Haneet Kour 3 silver medals, Avikam 1 gold and 2 silver medals, Gurtej Singh 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, Adwait Sharma 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, Viraaj Gandotra 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal, Adhira Kanotra 2 gold and 1 silver medal, Saanvi Grover 2 gold and 1 silver medal, Udhay Narayan 1 gold and 2 silver medals, Samarjot Singh 1 gold and 1 silver, Kartikeya Puri 1 silver and 1 bronze, Tabish Haider 2 gold medals, Surya Bhaskar 1 gold (Alpine), Rudra Arora 1 gold (Alpine), and Anaysha 1 bronze.
Competing against fierce talent from across the Union Territory, the club’s skaters showcased their exceptional skills, dedication, and sportsmanship, earning medals in almost all age categories of quads and inline speed skating. The 9 emerging UT champions, each with remarkable performances, are a testament to the hard work, discipline, and passion that the club instills in its skaters.
Lauding the skaters for their phenomenal performance, Ashok Gandotra ( Retd Chief Engineer) President of the Club said “I am immensely proud of our skaters’ performance at the UT Championship 2024. Their hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence have truly paid off. To have 9 of our skaters emerge as UT champions is a remarkable achievement and speaks volumes about the talent and discipline within IHRSC.” He further said that the results at the championship are a direct reflection of the quality of training and support provided at IHRSC. “This victory is not just a win in medals, but a celebration of the spirit, teamwork, and determination that defines our club”, he maintained.
Meanwhile, the skaters of IHRSC also showcased supremacy at the recently held Sahodya Roller Skating Championship at the premises of JKPS Kathua by winning 14 medals. Four Indian Hawks skaters became speed champions in the event. The medal winners include Tabish Haider 2 gold medals, Namsimran Singh 2 gold medals, Nidhaan Singh 2 silver medals, Haneet Kour 2 gold medals, Avikam 2 gold medals, Shambhav 1 silver medal, Gurtej Singh 2 gold medals and Adwait Sharma one silver medal.
