Movement Kalki’s protest, which demands the recognition of cows as “National Mother,” stricter laws against cow trafficking, and the establishment of more cowsheds, has reached its 15th consecutive day at Amphalla Chowk. Despite day-and-night efforts from Movement Kalki members, the government has not yet issued any official response, nor has any representative met with the protestors.
On this 15th day, the protest received notable support from members of the Muslim community and Pushpendra Kulshrestha’s team. Social activist Mehran Anjum Mir and Vishal Gupta, a representative from Kulshrestha’s organization, joined Movement Kalki to show solidarity with their mission.
Statements of Support
Speaking at the protest, Vishal Gupta stated, “No organization that respects Sanatan Dharma and reveres cows can ignore this cause. A significant portion of the Hindu community strongly desires that cows be given the status of National Mother. This movement isn’t new; it began with Swami Karpatri Ji Maharaj, who campaigned tirelessly. During Indira Gandhi’s regime, many Brahmins, saints, and followers sacrificed their lives, but society seems to have forgotten this. Today, recent political developments in J&K have led to an increase in cow trafficking, which is an attack on Hindu beliefs and values.”
He continued, “These acts are deliberate insults to Hindu sentiments, and it’s time they were acknowledged as such. Trafficking and mistreatment of cows—an animal sacred in Hinduism—are affronts to our beliefs. We urge the government to take this issue seriously and establish strict laws to protect cows.”
Mehran Anjum Mir, representing the Muslim community, added, “I support Movement Kalki as I understand the issues they are addressing. Cow trafficking leads to mob violence and conflict between communities. Recognizing the cow as the ‘National Mother’ would honor Hindu sentiments and help reduce communal conflicts. The Muslim community also suffers from these issues, and if the government grants this status to cows, it will foster peace and mutual respect between the Hindu and Muslim communities.”
Movement Kalki’s Response and Call to Action
On behalf of Movement Kalki, Maharaj Thakur Arjun Singh stated, “We will not end our campaign until our demands are heard.
Every day, more people are joining us, and our movement is gaining public support. It is disappointing that no government representative has come forward to address this crucial issue, which is deeply connected to Hindu beliefs. This neglect is concerning.”
Movement Kalki calls on the public to stand in solidarity with their cause and urges the government to recognize the cow as the National Mother and implement robust protective measures. Key Movement Kalki members present at the protest included Sanjeev Dubey, Rohit Bajrangi, Pawan Narang, Advocate Sumeshwar Kohli, Deepak Sharma, Sunita Kundal, Sapna Hindu, and others, all committed to turning this into a nationwide movement.
