Students of Dogra Degree College participated in an educational visit to Mega Exhibition Event “Rise in Jammu & Kashmir- 2024” on the 4th of October 2024 to showcase the students India’s progress across various sectors, reflecting the country’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth. The event has brought together nearly 45 national and state-level institutions, including prestigious organizations such as the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Power Grid, Geological Survey of India (GSI), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Coir Board, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The exhibition/workshop gave a wonderful opportunity to the students to interact directly with experts, and engage them in discussions that deepened their understanding of various scientific and technological advancements. By exploring exhibits related to cutting-edge research and innovations, they gained valuable knowledge and insights that extends beyond classroom learning.
The exposure to real-world applications of science and technology inspired many students to consider careers in these fields. Furthermore, the interaction with scientists allowed students to ask questions and clarify doubts, enriching their academic experience.
The workshop equipped the students with the new insights in the field of science and technology and motivated them to pursue new career opportunity in the related field. These sessions provided hands-on experiences, allowing them to apply theoretical concepts learned in their courses to practical scenarios.
The students were encouraged to think critically and creatively, fostering a mindset conducive to innovation. This engagement not only enhanced their technical skills but also improved their understanding of the relevance of research and development in solving real-world problems.
The whole program was managed by Mr. Ashish Thakur, Lecturer in Management, DDC under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College.
