District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma chaired a review meeting to assess the status of reception and delivery of Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETBPS) and postal ballots. The meeting was attended by the ADDC, Dy. DEO, Nodal Officer for Postal Ballots and a representative of the Superintendent of Post Offices, Rajouri.
During the meeting, DEO directed that all post offices in the district remain open on October 5th and 6th to facilitate the smooth handling of ETBPS and postal ballots. The Superintendent of Post Offices was instructed to ensure the immediate delivery of all ETBPS and postal ballots received to the concerned Returning Officers (ROs) without delay.
Furthermore, the Superintendent of Post Offices was tasked with liaising with the concerned post offices in Jammu to expedite the reception and delivery process.
In addition, the DEO directed that the ROs shall depute Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) or senior officers to inspect the post offices and ensure that no ETBPS or postal ballots remain undelivered.
