From the Oman side, Brigadier General Abdulkadhim Bin Ibrahim Al-Ajmi, Commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade, Royal Army of Oman, and Lieutenant Colonel Masood Mubarak Al-Ghafri, Commanding Officer of the Frontier Force attended the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony was preceded by a grand joint live-fire demonstration by contingents of Indian Army and Royal Army of Oman to show case jointness and interoperability between the two armies to tackle various situations that may arise in peacekeeping operations under the UN Mandate.
The demonstration which saw participation of close to 60 soldiers from both sides was a befitting conclusion to the two week long bilateral exercise.
The demonstration also included simulated isolation and clearance of a village in desert terrain by a joint force comprising of Indian and Omani Armoured Personal Carrier based troops followed by house clearance drills and hostage rescue. During the demonstration snipers from both the sides also showcased their marksmanship skills with their accurate engagements of targets.
Highlight of the event was use of state-of-the-art Indian made equipment like Drones to provide real time surveillance and ballistic shields that were used for room intervention and hostage protection.
