To commemorate NSS Foundation Day, NSS Unit,Dogra Degree College hosted an inspiring Orientation Programme on 25th September 2024 . The event aimed to ignite the spirit of service and social responsibility among students.
The Programme began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Bela Thakur, who emphasized the importance of volunteerism and community engagement in shaping responsible citizens. “Participating in NSS not only enhances personal growth but also nurtures a sense of responsibility towards society,” she stated.
Balwant Singh Parihar, UBA PI Coordinator , shared valuable insights into the transformative power of community service, urging students to actively participate in NSS initiatives that can bring about positive change in their surroundings.
Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Professor of English, recounted his personal journey as an NSS volunteer, highlighting the impactful experiences that shaped his commitment to service. “My time with NSS taught me invaluable lessons in teamwork, empathy, and leadership,” he shared with the audience.
The NSS Programme Officer, Simran Thakur presented an engaging PowerPoint presentation that outlined upcoming projects and opportunities for student involvement, encouraging attendees to embrace the NSS ethos of service.
The event concluded with a Pledge Taking Ceremony, where participants committed themselves to the principles of NSS, promising to dedicate their time and efforts towards community betterment.
This orientation serves as a vital step in nurturing the spirit of volunteerism among our youth representative. We are proud to celebrate NSS Foundation Day by inspiring the next generation of changemakers.
