On September 23, 2024, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh formally inaugurated Sainik School in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as part of the Government’s initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India in partnership mode. Of the 100 schools, 45 have been approved by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with state governments, NGOs, and private institutions. Forty of these schools are already operational, with Sainik School, Jaipur being one of them.
During his address, Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized the significance of the school in providing guidance and infrastructure to the youth of Rajasthan to join the Armed Forces and serve the nation. He highlighted Rajasthan’s rich history of bravery, mentioning historical figures like Maharana Pratap and Prithviraj Chauhan, as inspirations for the younger generation.
Shri Rajnath Singh also spoke about the evolving Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which is now seen as “Private-Public Partnership,” with the private sector playing a key role in the country’s economic development. He stressed that through these new Sainik Schools, both sectors will work together to offer quality education to future generations.
The Raksha Mantri underlined the critical role of education in national development, emphasizing that Sainik Schools not only impart academic knowledge but also foster values of discipline, patriotism, and courage. He mentioned notable alumni like the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, and Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, who are products of Sainik School, Rewa.
The new schools will follow the Sainik Schools Society’s rules and regulations while also incorporating an “Academic Plus Curriculum,” which includes value-based learning, physical training, NCC, skill development, and extra-curricular activities to ensure holistic student development.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd). The new Sainik School is expected to significantly contribute to shaping the future of India’s patriotic youth.
