Garlanding Ceremony Held at Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall

The Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today celebrated the birth anniversary of the revered Maharaja Hari Singh as “Samajik Naye Divas” at the Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall, Jammu.
The event was marked by a solemn garlanding ceremony to honor the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh, who remains a symbol of justice, progress, and social reform for the Dogra community and beyond.
The celebration commenced with a floral tribute to the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, as prominent members of the Sabha and distinguished guests paid their respects. The garlanding ceremony was led by Shri Gulchain Singh Charak, President of Dogra Sadar Sabha, along with members of the Dogra community, civil society, and other dignitaries.
In his address, Shri Charak highlighted the immense contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh, particularly his progressive and enlightened policies that laid the foundation for social reforms and justice for all. He emphasized that Maharaja’s vision was not confined to the Dogra community but extended to people from all walks of life, regardless of caste, creed, or religion.
“Maharaja Hari Singh was a visionary ruler whose policies were ahead of his time. His contributions to social welfare, education, and justice continue to resonate today. He championed equality, upliftment of the downtrodden, and ensured that his administration served every citizen of the state fairly and justly,” Shri Charak said.
Shri Charak further spoke on Maharaja’s reforms in education, women’s rights, and the establishment of public welfare schemes that transformed Jammu and Kashmir into a progressive state. His famous declaration, “Justice for all, discrimination for none,” still serves as a guiding principle for the people of the region.
The event concluded with a pledge by the Dogra Sadar Sabha to carry forward the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh by continuing to work for the social upliftment and welfare of all sections of society.
The Sabha called upon the youth to draw inspiration from Maharaja Hari Singh’s life and to remain committed to the values of justice, fairness, and inclusiveness, which were at the core of his governance. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Brig. (Retd.) MS Jamwal, Ajay Khajuria, (Retd DC,) Jag Mohan Sharma, Prem Sagar Gupta, Amanat Ali Shah, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ravi Singh, Balwinder Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Naresh Sharma,, Narinder Paul, Dinesh Gupta. Gopal Gupta and others.
