Senior Congress leader and candidate for the Bahu constituency, Taranjit Singh Tony, has pledged to address the crisis facing transporters in Jammu and Kashmir with a transformative new transport policy. Addressing a series of public meetings across the Bahu constituency, Tony highlighted the dire state of the transportation sector, which has been suffering due to the lack of effective policies from the current administration.
“Transporters are struggling to keep their businesses afloat, and their families are enduring significant hardships as a result of the inadequate and hollow policies of the present dispensation,” he stated.
The senior Congress leader criticized the BJP-led Central Government for failing to deliver on its promises, asserting that the party’s actions have been devoid of tangible benefits for the people and traders of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The BJP has made numerous promises, but the reality is that they have done nothing to support the transport sector or the local economy,” he added.
Assuring a change in leadership, Tony emphasized that if the Congress Party is voted to power in Jammu and Kashmir, it will introduce a comprehensive New Transport Policy aimed at revitalizing the industry and providing much-needed support to transporters and their families.
The proposed policy will focus on creating sustainable solutions to improve the working conditions of transporters, ensuring fair and equitable regulations, and fostering a robust transport infrastructure to boost economic growth, he added.
Tony appealed to all the transporters as well the general public of Bahu constituency to support him in the Assembly elections, promising that a vote for Congress is a vote for a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir’s transport sector and its associated communities.
“Your vote is crucial for bringing about the much-needed change and ensuring that the needs of transporters and their families are prioritized,” Tony concluded.
