JAMMU, Sept 7
Adv. Purnima Sharma, BJP Spokesperson, J&K and former Deputy Mayor Jammu, today slammed National Conference leader Omar Abdullah for his controversial remarks regarding the hanging of Afzal Guru, describing it as a reflection of the mindset of INDI Alliance.
In a statement issued here today, Adv Purnima stated, “Omar Abdullah’s jibe about Afzal Guru’s hanging is not just a disgrace but a clear indicator of the dangerous ideologies some parties in the I.N.D.I Alliance are promoting. It’s alarming that a leader of his stature is sympathizing with a convicted terrorist who attacked the Indian Parliament. Such rhetoric reflects the mindset of those who are soft on national security.”
Purnima further emphasized that these remarks from Omar Abdullah are not isolated incidents but part of a larger narrative being propagated by the opposition. “We have to be vigilant about such parties that support anti-national elements, directly or indirectly. They pose a grave threat to the unity and integrity of India. The people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have suffered due to terrorism, must reject such divisive ideologies,” she added.
The senior BJP leader urged the people of J&K to stand united with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a strong, progressive, and secure India. “BJP is the only party that has consistently worked towards the betterment of the nation, focusing on development, security, and the upliftment of every citizen. We need your support to continue on this path of progress, to ensure that no space is given to those who support or sympathize with anti-national elements,”* she said.
She urged the people to make informed decisions and to vote for a party in the upcoming polls that prioritizes the nation’s security and development.
