Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Trust hosts vibrant Rath Yatra for Janmashtami

Today on 26th August 2024 Sh. Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust Gandhi Nagar organized a grand celebrations of “Shree Krishan Janamashtami” starting with Sh. Ganesh and Nav Greh Pooja followed by a colourful Rath Yatra carrying the idols of Lord Krishna in a well decorated ‘Rath’ which started from Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Gandhi Nagar accompanied by besides, large number of devotees, especially the students and staff of various educational institutions including the Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar and Shastri Shiksha Kendra School Gandhi Nagar Jammu, members and special invitees of the Trust led by Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak (Former Minister) and President of the Trust passing through various temples including Shree Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Dhudha Dhari Mandir, Shri Durga Mandir and then Gole Market Gandhi Nagar etc. Enroute various organizations had arranged water, cold drinks and other items as parshad for the yatris. Then the yatra culminated at the main complex Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir.
Proper arrangements had been made to regulate the devotees in such a manner that there is minimum scope of crowding at particular time for organising different programmes. In connection with celebration, the temple complex was given a fresh look, and profusely decorated by Mrs. Uma Katal accompained by Sh. Krishan Gupta and others. The temple was decorated tastefully befitting the pious occassion. Thereafter the trust arranged a ‘Bhajan Sandya’ programme from 5.00 PM to 7.00P.M. by ‘Bhartiya Sangeet Sansthan’ for devotees visiting Mandir. Main attraction of the function was beautiful ‘selfie point’ near the stage in main hall where large number of people along with their wards were seen taking selfies. After that almost hundred childrens wearing the dresses of Radha and Krishna were honoured by the trust by presenting them medals.
Then at 12:00 Midnight Maha-Arti was organized. Sh S.C Rekhi Secretary of the Trust speaking on the occasion thanked Sh. K.B Magotra D.C (Retd) convenor, Mrs. Uma Katal, other members of the function committee and all staff members with whose efforts such a wonderful event could be organized. In the end, after Maha-Arti parshad was distributed among devotees present at the time of Lord Krishna’s birth.
Prominent among others who participated included S/Shri S.C.Rekhi (Secretary), V.K.Abrol, Romesh Thakur, KB Magotra, P.C.Gupta, Kapil Slathia, Indu Bhushan Sharma, Ashok Khajuria, Sumesh Damral, Ved Verma, Prem Sharma, Prashant Sharma, Sandeep Singh, Tarun Gupta, Brij Raj Singh, JagjeetSingh, Kulbir Singh Chib, Pankul Vaid and other prominent persons.
