‘Cong exposed for preferring power over nation’s integrity, security’

Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, asserted that the Congress Party has once again exposed itself by allying with the Abdullah family’s National Conference in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections. He criticized this Alliance as another attempt by Congress to prioritize its thirst for power over the nation’s unity and security. In a statement issued here today, the BJP stalwart emphasized that this Alliance raises serious concerns about the Congress Party’s stance on several key issues that could have long-term implications for Jammu and Kashmir and the entire nation. Gupta questioned whether Congress supports the National Conference’s promise of reinstating a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir, a move that undermines India’s sovereignty and unity. He also called out Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leadership on their position regarding the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, which, if implemented, could push the region back into an era of unrest and terrorism. The senior BJP leader expressed concern over Congress’ willingness to engage in separatist-promoting dialogues with Pakistan, at the cost of addressing the aspirations of Kashmir’s youth. He further criticized the proposal to restart LoC trade with Pakistan, a move he claimed could once again nurture terrorism. Highlighting Congress’ anti-reservation stance, Kavinder pointed out that the alliance with National Conference could harm marginalized communities such as Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals, and Pahadis by withdrawing their reservations. He also slammed Congress for supporting the renaming of sacred Hindu sites like Shankaracharya Hill to Takht-e-Suleiman and Hari Hill to Koh-e-Maran, a cultural erasure that disregards Jammu and Kashmir’s rich heritage. He warned that Congress might be willing to reinstate the relatives of terrorists and stone-pelters into government jobs, potentially reversing the peace and stability achieved under the BJP’s leadership. The senior BJP leader further accused Congress of aiding corruption and collusion with Pakistan-backed families, which could drag Jammu and Kashmir’s economy back into the hands of vested interests. He also highlighted the discrimination Jammu has historically faced from the National Conference’s politics, questioning whether Congress would support further marginalization of the Jammu region in favor of the Valley? Kavinder asserted that the upcoming Assembly polls are a direct contest between nationalist forces committed to the unity and integrity of the nation, and those who have consistently aligned with separatist agendas and disruptive policies. He emphasized that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has transformed Jammu and Kashmir by bringing development, stability, and peace to the region. He urged the people to reject the divisive politics of the Congress-NC alliance and instead support the BJP, which stands for the aspirations of all communities, especially the marginalized sections, and is committed to furthering the region’s progress within the framework of a united India.
