Uday Bhanu Chib, General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress, graced the closing ceremony of the 2nd Dodge Ball Jammu District Championship held at Bagwati Stadium Jammu.
The Championship held from 10th to 11th August, witnessed an enthusiastic participation of around 175 players from across the district. The championship featured intense matches, highlighting the talent and enthusiasm of the players. The event also aimed at promoting dodge ball as a sport in the region and encouraging more youth to take up sports actively.
In his address, Uday Chib, who was the Chief Guest, commended the remarkable turnout and the high level of competition displayed by the participants. “The energy and dedication shown by these young athletes are truly commendable. Sports play a crucial role in fostering discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth,” he stated.
Uday Chib emphasized the importance of sports in youth development and nation-building. “Engaging in sports not only promotes physical fitness but also instills values of perseverance and sportsmanship. It is essential to provide our young talents with ample opportunities and platforms to showcase their skills and grow,” he added.
Uday Chib acknowledged the efforts of the organizers, coaches, and volunteers who made the event a grand success. “Organizing such events requires immense dedication and hard work. I applaud the efforts of the organizers for providing a platform for our young athletes to shine,” he said.
The senior Congress leader also took the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the Indian Youth Congress towards the upliftment and empowerment of the youth. “Our focus remains on creating avenues for the youth to excel in various fields, including sports. We will continue to support and encourage initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of young individuals,” he affirmed.
The closing ceremony concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates to the winners and participants. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the young athletes celebrated their achievements and looked forward to future opportunities.
