BUDGET PE CHARCHA’ held at Doda & Kishtwar

R S Pathania, BJP Spokesperson & Former MLA, J&K has done a press conference after an intensive discussion i.e. ‘BUDGET PE CHARCHA’ with the prominent citizens and people of civil society in Doda and Kishtwar. He highlighted various people-oriented steps taken by the government for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He accused the INDIA alliance partners for playing politics over caste, censes and instigating innocent farmers against the government. Pathania said that Budget 2024-25 has been prepared on the roadmap of Viksit Bharat Vision and keeping in mind the aspirations of Farmers, Youth, Women and Poor of the country.
As per economic survey presented one day before the Union Budget 2024, India’s real GDP grew by 8.2% in FY 2023-24, Gross Fixed Capital Formation increased by 9% in real terms, Retail inflation declined to 5.4% in FY 2023-24 the lowest level since the COVID-19 pandemic and Current Account Deficit stood at 0.7 % of the GDP during FY 2023-24, an improvement from the deficit of 2.0% of GDP in FY 2022-23. The Indian agriculture sector provides livelihood support to about 42.3% of the population and has a share of 18.2% in the country’s GDP at current prices. As of 31 January 2024, the total credit disbursed to agriculture amounted to ? 22.84 lakh Crore, with ?13.67 lakh Crore allocated to crop loans (short term) and ? 9.17 lakh Crore to term loans.
In the Union Budget 2024-25 allocates ? 11 Lakh crore to capital expenditure, about ? 1.50 lakh crore to the agriculture sector and investment of ?10 lakh crore under the PM Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0, including the Central assistance of ?2.2 lakh crore in the next five years. Railways has been allocated ?2.62 lakh crore in the Budget 2024-25, which has been termed as ‘historic’ and highest ever allocation for providing efficient and Hi-tech rail connectivity across the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The allocation for defense in the Union Budget was ?6.2 lakh crore for 2024-25 out of which capital outlay of ?1,72,000 crore will further strengthen the capabilities of Indian armed forces. There is an allocation of of Rs 1,18,390 Cr to Jammu and Kashmir, including revenue expenditure of Rs 81,486 Cr and capital expenditure of Rs 36,904 Cr, for the Financial Year (FY) 2024-25 in the Parliament. Union Finance Minister abolished the Angel Tax in order to boost startup ecosystem in the country. The angel tax was introduced under the UPA Government in 2012.
This budget will productivity and resilience in agriculture, employment and skilling, inclusive human resource development and social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, emergency security, infrastructure, innovation R&D, next-gen reforms and finally leads into to a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
Whereas Chuni lal Shan, District President, Kishtwar, along with Tariq Keen, State Secretary, BJP, Pradeep Singh Parihar, Akshay, former District Presidents, Anita Katoch, Brijmohan Sharma, Raj Kumar Badyal and a galaxy of local leaders remained present during the press conference at Kishtwar. And Babu Ram Sharma, Distt President Doda, Dhananter Singh, DDC Chairman Doda, Sangeeta Bhagat, DDC Vice-Chairman Doda, Advocate Raman, Rakesh Kumar, Ashok Bhagat, Ravinder Thakur, Kosar Natnoo, Master Munshi Ram, remained present at Doda.
