Recognizing the growing concern of drug addiction among students and youth, the Indian Army organized an awareness lecture on ‘Drug Abuse’ at Ichni in the Reasi district. This initiative aimed to educate the local population about the dangers of drug addiction and the measures that can be taken to prevent it.
The lecture was well-attended, with 32 civilians participating, including one Sarpanch, three Village Defense Committee (VDC) members, and 28 local residents. The Indian Army delivered an informative and detailed presentation on the harmful effects of drug use, highlighting the physical, mental, and social consequences of addiction.
The session began with a comprehensive explanation of drug addiction, including how it starts, its progression, and its devastating impact on individuals and communities. The Army emphasized the importance of early intervention and the role of families and communities in supporting those struggling with addiction.
