Doordarshan Drama Artists Launch Campaign for Satellite Duggar Channel to Preserve Duggar Culture

To protect the cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar land and emphasized the welfare of the artists fraternity a team of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association setup a signature campaign in Akhnoor Tahsil near Late Sh. Padamdev Singh Chowk to sought the widespred public support at both Tehsil and District level to established the Satellite Duggar Channel in Jammu region. The team comprised of Sh.Madan Rangila ,Sh Janak Khajuria, Dr.Kamal Sharma,Arvind Anand , J.R.Sagar and J. R.Jackson and held the meeting under the chairmanship of vice President Sh. Madan Rangila with artists fraternity of Akhnoor Tahsil and uniounimislly elected Sh. Mohan Singh Jamwal as president, Ms. Rabia Khajuria as General Secretary, Sh Rishi Kumar as Vice President, Ravinder Magotra Organizing Secretary and Rimpy Gupta,Sonali Gupta, Manakshi Gupta and Shiv Beragi as excutive members. A significant number of residents from various walks of life and remote areas of Tehsil Akhnoor signed in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel. The public appreciated DADAA’s efforts to protect the cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar Pardesh. They assured their full support for this noble cause. Prominent citizen of Akhnoor Tahsil Dr.Tilak Raj Gupta high- lighted the importance of the Satellite Duggar Channel, stating, “This channel is essential to promote the Dogri language and culture world- wide through electronic media, allowing the world to learn about the Dogras and their rich heritage.’ He also mentioned that the channel would help explore and pro- mote tourist spots in the Jammu region as a place named Ambaran Buddhist monastic complex on the right bank of river Chenab, at Ambaran, near Akhnoor and dates back from 1st century BCE to 4th-5th century CE, gave a strong physical proof of a vibrant Buddhist phase in Jammu. Such monastic complexes like Ambaran not only served as important transit stations for the iterant monks who were constant companions to the caravans of traders ferrying goods from the Indian mainland to Kashmir and further afield to the Central Asia, but also as centers for propagation of Dharma amongst the local hill communities.
Madan Rangila Vice President of DADAA, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to achieving this goal. He appealed to all residents of Duggar land to unite in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel “We will continue our struggle until we achieve our target,
The spoks person of Association Janak Khajuria announced that the next signature campaign would be held at Tahsil R.S.Pura and urged all Dogras to raise their voices in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel from every corner.
