The once tranquil Ring Road on the outskirts of Jammu has turned into a hotspot of criminal activity, sparking fear and frustration among residents. Despite repeated assurances from authorities about installing CCTV cameras to bolster security, no tangible action has been taken.
Farmer leader Subhash Dasotra has raised a collective outcry over the deteriorating safety conditions. He emphasized the pressing need for a comprehensive security system to allow safe passage for all.
Former Panch Om Prakash shared a harrowing recent incident where a driver was viciously attacked and robbed near Bishnah, a stark reminder of the perilous conditions. This follows another brazen attack where a young man was robbed of his motorcycle near the village of Langotian. Despite the severity of these incidents, the culprits remain at large, deepening the community’s sense of insecurity.
For the past two months, police officials have assured the installation of CCTV cameras along Ring Road to deter criminal activities. However, Subhash Dasotra highlighted the lack of progress, stating that the promised security measures remain unfulfilled, leaving the community disillusioned and anxious.
Residents of Kotli Mian Fateh, a village adjacent to Ring Road, have been vocal about the urgent need for action. They report daily incidents of theft and robbery, underscoring the gravity of the situation. The community is demanding immediate implementation of effective security measures to halt this wave of crime.
Despite the mounting pressure, local authorities have yet to provide a concrete response or timeline for the promised security enhancements. The residents remain hopeful that the installation of CCTV cameras and other critical safety measures will be expedited to restore peace and security to their area.
