Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, presided over a Block Diwas program at PWD Rest House, Block Dinga Amb, to address public grievances and concerns.
The program was attended by Ex-PRIs, social activists, and individuals who highlighted various issues, including upgradation of HS Dinga Amb, unscheduled power cuts, shortage of manpower in Jal Shakti and PDD departments, separation of Ration Cards, early completion of PMGSY Roads and others.
Dr. Minhas assured the public that all genuine issues would be addressed with the active intervention of concerned departments. He directed the CEO to prepare a proposal for upgradation of HS Dinga Amb and instructed the XEN PDD to plan for reducing unscheduled power cuts. He also appealed to the masses to install electric meters at their homes. The DC informed the public that gun license renewals and new licenses are now done online. He assured that necessary arrangements would be made to fill the vacant posts of MBBS doctors in PHC Dinga Amb within days.
Regarding the demand for creation of VDGs and VDCs, the DC stated that work has begun and gun licenses will be issued in due course. He asked the AEE PMGSY to note all issues and address them according to fund feasibility.
SDM Hiranagar informed the public that Dinga Amb is the first block in Kathua with maximum government offices functioning in a single complex, facilitating timely grievance redressal.
The DC planted four chinar tree saplings as part of a targeted 700 plants to be planted in Dinga Amb Block. DDC Marheen Karan Attri and DDC Dinga Amb Rimmi Charak emphasized public participation in implementing schemes.
Among others present were Chief Planning Officer, ACD, XEN PDD, XEN PWD Hiranagar, CEO, CAO, and other district and sectoral officers.
