JKTPO organizes e-commerce onboarding drive at Samba

As part of the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) series of e-commerce onboarding initiative, a workshop was organized in Samba, in collaboration with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This initiative was part of JKTPO’s ongoing efforts to economically empower local sellers by integrating them into the digital economy.
The event was organized under the directives of Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner/Secretary Industries & Commerce, J&K, and with the guidance of Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director, JKTPO, in collaboration with the District Administration of Samba.
The workshops aimed to provide comprehensive training to local sellers on how to effectively utilize e-commerce platforms to expand their businesses. The participants received hands-on guidance on creating and managing online storefronts, navigating digital marketplaces, and leveraging online tools to reach a broader customer base.
Earlier, Banu Partap Singh, Vice President of Sales at MyStore, along with Prafull, Manager at MyStore, conducted virtual training sessions for the participants who were interested in registering themselves as sellers on the platform. During the session, Javed Seikh, Business Facilitator, GeM, emphasized the numerous advantages of joining ecommerce platforms and provided a detailed explanation of the entire onboarding process. Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Samba stated that “The products produced in Samba is of good quality and it should reach every household. Our artisans are highly skilled and produce products of excellent quality and those this workshop, we want everyone to come forward and register themselves to expand their customer reach.” He also emphasized the pivotal role of such initiatives in fostering economic growth and sustainable development within the district. He commended JKTPO’s proactive approach in supporting local entrepreneurs, artisans, and small-scale enterprises in embracing digital transformation.
Over 200 artisans, farmers, entrepreneurs, participated in today’s workshop and received hands-on training and guidance on navigating e-commerce platforms, optimizing product listings, digital marketing strategies, and managing online transactions securely. The event not only equipped attendees with essential digital skills but also fostered a collaborative environment conducive to knowledge exchange and networking among stakeholders.
Moving forward, JKTPO plans to conduct similar initiatives across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring widespread participation and inclusive growth. The organization remains dedicated to exploring new avenues that empower local communities, stimulate economic diversification, and amplify the global presence of Jammu and Kashmir’s unique cultural heritage.
