World Youth Skills Day Celebrated with Eco-Friendly Competition

Today, on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, a unique competition was held to celebrate creativity and eco-consciousness among young minds. The event focused on evaluating Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) designed specifically for children with special needs, utilizing an eco-friendly approach by repurposing waste materials.
The competition, organized by Team of Composite Regional Centre, Jammu under the able Guidance of Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director, CRC Jammu.
A Total of six enthusiastic participants who showcased their ingenuity and commitment to sustainability. Each participant crafted TLMs that not only catered to the educational needs of children with special needs but also adhered to the principles of environmental conservation.
A panel of esteemed judges, comprising:
Dr. Aksa Rao, Associate Professor, GCW Parade Jammu.
Dr. Behzad Maqbool, Associate Professor, MIER College of Education, B.C. Road, Jammu.
Dr. Bishamber, Assistant Professor, CRC Jammu
experts in education, special needs, and environmental sustainability, meticulously evaluated each entry based on criteria such as creativity, usability, eco-friendliness, and relevance to special education.
After thorough deliberation, the judges announced the winners:
Tanvi Jasrotia from MIER College of Education won the first prize,
Richa Sharma from Govt. College of Education Jammu and Payal form MIER College of Education won the Second prize, and
Arti form MIER college of Education won the third prize
The celebration of World Youth Skills Day through this competition not only recognized the talents of young creators but also reinforced the value of inclusive education and sustainability in today’s world. The event also highlighting the achievements of the participants and the significance of promoting skills development and sustainability in education.
