He said she led the National Conference at a very crucial juncture of the political evolution of Jammu and Kashmir when Baba-e-Quom was in prison. He emphasized that Madr-e-Meharban proved to be an affectionate mother, a dynamic leader, and a great human being who had a deep concern for the welfare and well-being of the people. He stated that Begum Sahiba will always remain an inspiration for the women of the state who want to play an equal role in socio-economic transformation.

The former MLA called for the implementation of political reservation for women in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. By doing so, she believed it would further the cause of women’s rights and participation in governance, paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable society where women’s voices are heard and respected.
