Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, SM, Group Commander of the Srinagar NCC Group, recently conducted a significant visit to the maiden Pre Nau Sainik Camp (NSC) Phase I at Hardosaran, near Ranjit Sagar Dam. This visit, held on July 9, 2024, was pivotal as it aimed to oversee the preparations of the naval cadets of the 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC for the upcoming All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2024. The AINSC is scheduled to be held in Lonavala, Pune from August 25 to September 5, 2024.
Pre NSC Phase I is the first of three preparatory camps being conducted in anticipation of AINSC-2024. Due to logistical reasons, the camp location was shifted to Hardosaran. The camp, facilitated under the command of Naval Unit Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander Tej Ram Sharma, provides cadets with the necessary facilities to undertake various waterborne activities essential for training for AINSC. Traditionally, this camp was held at NTA, Nagrota, with Mansar Lake utilized for waterborne activities.
Brigadier Sajjanhar’s visit included a comprehensive review of the cadets’ training progress, meticulous oversight of preparations for AINSC-2024, motivational interactions with the cadets, and an inspection of facilities and administrative arrangements. Upon arrival, Brigadier Sajjanhar was warmly received by Lieutenant Commander Tej Ram Sharma and honored with an impressive ceremonial Guard of Honour by the naval cadets of the 1 J&K Naval Unit.
During his address to the cadets, Brigadier Sajjanhar emphasized the importance of setting both short-term and long-term goals in life. He highlighted the advantages of joining the NCC, drawing parallels between life’s challenges and those faced in NCC camps.
