Stresses for planting more & more trees to counteract negative impacts of urbanization

Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today actively participated in a plantation drive organized by the Vishav Yog Sansthan in collaboration with the Forest Department.
The event, held in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, saw a significant turnout of dignitaries and local citizens committed to environmental preservation.
On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta was the Chief Guest. Among the prominent personalities present were Ashwani Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Urban; Nitin Chadak, Forest Ranger; Karan Sharma, Yog Guru; Sunny Sangotra; Mukhtiar Singh; Sharda Devi, Ex-Corporator; Shyam Basan, Ex-Corporator; Leela Jamwal; Ajay Sharma; and other notable figures. The drive highlighted the critical importance of tree plantation in combating the adverse effects of global warming and environmental degradation.
In his address, Kavinder Gupta emphasized the urgent need to plant more trees to counteract the negative impacts of urbanization and the proliferation of concrete structures. He remarked, “Global warming affects the entire world, and the rapid urbanization coupled with unending concrete structures has exacerbated this issue. There is a dire need to plant more trees. Our ancestors planted trees that benefit us and our current generation. It is now our responsibility to continue this tradition by planting more trees during the ongoing rainy season to safeguard our environment and preserve Mother Nature for future generations.”
Kavinder further elaborated on the significance of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which aligns with the broader objectives of Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a greener India.
He urged the community members to actively participate in such initiatives, stressing that collective efforts are crucial for achieving substantial environmental improvements. “Each tree planted today is a step towards a healthier and more sustainable tomorrow. Let us all unite in this noble cause and contribute to making our planet greener and cleaner,” he added.
Kavinder Gupta also highlighted the collaborative efforts of Vishav Yog Sansthan and Forest Department in promoting environmental awareness and action.
The event also saw enthusiastic participation from the local community, with many individuals and families coming forward to plant saplings. The organizers, Vishav Yog Sansthan and the Forest Department, ensured the availability of various indigenous plant species suitable for the region’s climate and soil.
The plantation drive concluded with a pledge by all attendees to continue their efforts in tree plantation and environmental conservation, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the planet for future generations.
