Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, today strongly condemned the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his derogatory remarks labeling Hindus as violent. He demanded an immediate and unconditional apology from the entire Congress leadership for disparaging comments made by Leader of the Opposition, in the Lok Sabha.
In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader asserted that Rahul Gandhi’s statements were not only inaccurate but also deeply offensive to the Hindu community at large. By characterizing Hindus as inherently violent during his parliamentary address, Rahul Gandhi has insulted millions of Hindus across the nation. He emphasized that such irresponsible statements reflect a complete lack of understanding of Indian traditions and Hindu culture.
Kavinder highlighted that the nation has been deeply hurt by Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, and called upon the Congress leader to retract his statements and offer a public apology. He emphasized that perpetuating such negative stereotypes only fuels discord and goes against the principles of harmony and mutual respect that India stands for.
The senior BJP leader also pointed out that since independence, the Congress party has often supported anti-national elements, which has significantly weakened the country. He cited various instances where the Congress leadership has been accused of appeasing separatist movements and failing to take a firm stand against terrorism. He argued that this history of compromise has undermined India’s sovereignty and security, further necessitating an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his latest inflammatory remarks.
“The Congress party’s consistent hostility towards Hindus must come to an end. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leadership must take responsibility for his words and rectify the harm caused by their irresponsible remarks,” he added.
The former deputy Chief Minister reiterated his demand for Rahul Gandhi to withdraw his comments and the Congress High Command must issue an unreserved apology to the Hindu community and the nation.
