This emergent Press conference is called today by ALL J&K TRANSPORT WELFARE ASSOCIATION, under the Chairmanship of S. Ajit Singh Chairman, Sh. Vijay Singh Chib President & the Presidents of all the Transport Unions of J&K UT, to highlight the various burning issues & problems being faced by all the Transporters of J&K UT and wants to bring all these issues to the kind notice of the J&K UT Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha ji, for their earnest & quick response to resolve all these issues at the earliest in order to save the Transport Industry in J&K Through this Press Conference, we warn the concerned authorities to immediately resolve the main issues and problems being faced by the Transporters of J&K UT, which include the following ; 1. The action initiated by the Transport authorities of J&K UT for the suspension of the Permits & RC’s of more than 8000 vehicles without any solid reason & without following the due procedures is highly condemnable and all the transporters of J&K UT express their anguish for the arrogant attitude adopted by the concerned authorities to harass the poor Transporters without any fault of theirs at this crucial time when the Holi Shri Amarnaath Yatra is all set to start very shortly. It seems that some irresponsible officers want to derail this Yatra by their irrelevant actions against the Transporters and the others associated with the Transport Industry in J&K UT. 2. It’s learnt that the Traffic police authorities in every District of J&K UT request the drivers of the vehicles to get a challan of their vehicle without any reason, only to achieve the monthly target of Challans set by the Higher authorities. Even the minor Challans of last more than Two years and which are finalised by the honorable MV courts, are being taken into account to declare these poor drivers as the Chronicle Offenders. The employees of the Transport Department click the photos of the back side of the vehicles from a far off distance and these poor drivers even don’t know that what is fault to their vehicle Challaned, thus pushing them in a situation of mental trauma. 3. It’s very much shocking that those poor drivers, who are being made the scapegoats by the irresponsible Transport authorities, don’t know their fault and the action of the Authorities taken for the suspension of such a hugh number of permits & RC’s at such a crucial time seems to be a conspiracy by some vested interested to disturb the smooth conduct of Sri Amarnaath Yatra for which the J&K LG Administration and the Government of India is very much committed to conduct this all important historic Yatra in a very smooth and best way at all costs and All J&K Transport Welfare Association is also committed to extend all its cooperation to make this Yatra a great success. We request Hon’ble LG Sh. Manoj Sinha ji to identify such irresponsible officers and bring them to the books to take the stern action against them so that they don’t dare to repeat such steps in future. 4. It’s pertinent to mention here that all the times, the Transporters of J&K UT extend all helps & cooperation to the administration in all situations including the conduct of all types of Elections & other Govt events and we are very much committed to contribute in the agenda of National development undertaken by the Govt but we feel sorry when someone from the administration authorities ruthlessly harm us without taking into consideration our selfless efforts & contributions thereby demoralizing us from performing our noble mission to serve the Nation. 5. Our one of the main issues is the plying of the E-Buses on those routes which are not meant for these E-Buses as the E-Buses is a project for the Smart City and these E-Buses are supposed to operate in the jurisdiction of the Smart City, only in JAMMU City and Srinagar City but these E-Buses are regularly plying without following the proper procedures in far off areas in all other areas of Jammu Province which is totally illegal and against the rules and regulations as the CEO of Jammu Smart City is acting arbitrarily and is not taking into consideration our concerns as ALL J&K TRANSPORT WELFARE ASSOCIATION is main stakeholder and the routes & Time-table should be framed & followed after due consideration of all the Stakeholders. The operation of these E-Buses must be governed by the Rules and Regulations of Motor Vehicle Department as on the pattern of Private Transport Vehicles. 6. It seems that there are two different rules prevailing in the present times, one Rule at the National level and a different Rule in the J&K UT. That is why such illegal and irrelevant rules are being imposed on the poor Transporters of J&K UT which can be proved as harmful both for the Transporters and the J&K UT administration. We warn such officers to desist from such acts and stop the undue harassment to the Transporters otherwise the results will not be better for anyone as we shall fight upto the last of breath & blood drops. Through this Press conference All J&K Transport Welfare Association ask the Authorities of J&K Transport Department and Jammu Smart City to come to the Negotiation Table to resolve all the issues upto the July 5th. 2024, otherwise the responsibility for the results shall be only of authorities of these irresponsible departments. We further appeal to the Hon’ble LG Sh. Manoj Sinha ji to intervene personally in this volatile issue of the Transporters who are the backbone of the economy of the J&K UT and are working round the clock with full of their vigour & strength to fulfil the dream of a developed & prosperous J&K in general and India in particular so that the high profile Sri Amarnaath Yatra can be completed successfully in a smooth and congenial atmosphere and a positive message may go throughout the world by the successful culmination of the Yatra.
