NC leaders visit Kheer Bhawani Temple in Jagti, pledge support for Kashmiri Migrants

On the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, senior leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) today visited the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Jagti and prayed for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinent to mention here that every year a grand annual Mela is organized at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tullamulla, Ganderbal district, where in Kashmiri Pandits in large numbers gather to pay obeisance. This day is celebrated with great religious fervor by the Kashmiri Pandit community.
During their visit to Jagti, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC Jammu, along with party leaders, interacted with Kashmiri Pandit migrants, extending their greetings and listening to their concerns. The members of the migrant community shared their grievances with the visiting NC leaders, highlighting the issues they face in the migrant camps in absence of basic amenities and healthcare facilities. They pointed out the unfortunate reality that, despite the rising cost of living, with soaring prices and peak inflation, the cash assistance provided to Kashmiri Migrants has not been increased for many years, no PM package of Jobs was given to the unemployed youths etc. The condition of their quarters are worsened. Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed that the National Conference has always supported the cause of Kashmiri Migrants and will continue to do so. He criticized the Government at the Centre for its unfulfilled promises to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, stating that since 2014, no significant steps have been taken in this regard. The Provincial President mentioned that during the regimes of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, several mini-townships for the Kashmiri migrant community were constructed and established in Jagti and other areas adjoining Jammu city. He also highlighted the various measures taken by the National Conference to address the concerns of the displaced community, emphasizing that the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley has always been a priority for the Party.
The Provincial President stressed the need to address the issues confronting the displaced Kashmiri Pandits urgently and urged the central government to formulate a time-bound roadmap for their safe, honorable, and dignified return. He appealed to the government to immediately announce a reasonable increase in the cash assistance being provided to KP migrants.
He reiterated the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to the cause of Kashmiri migrants and assured that the Party will continue to fight for their rights. Appealing to the migrant community, the senior NC leader urged them to strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah by supporting the National Conference candidate in the upcoming Assembly polls in the Kashmir Province. Among those who were present include: Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary Jammu, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Jatin Bhat, Kaka Ji Bhan, Veer Ji, Rajinder Dhar, Varinder Pandita and others.
