On the occasion of World Environment Day, Indian Army organized a series of impactful activities in Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch District. To promote environmental conservation and community engagement. The event featured a Cleanliness Drives, an awareness lectures on environmental issues, and a Tree Plantation drive, all conducted with active participation from the resident population as well as troops. The cleanliness drives aimed at tidying up public spaces, removing litter and promoting hygiene. Local residents worked together to clean streets, parks, and other communal areas, setting an example of the importance of maintaining a clean environment. This initiative not only beautified the surroundings but also raised awareness about the significance of cleanliness in preventing health hazards and preserving the natural beauty of the region. In addition to the cleanliness drives, Indian Army also organized awareness lectures on environmental issues.
The lecture covered crucial topics such as the impact of pollution, climate change, and the importance of sustainable practices. It aimed to educate the local community about the environmental challenges facing the world today and the steps they can take to mitigate these problems. The lectures successfully engaged, the audience, inspiring them to adopt more eco-friendly habits. The events also included a tree plantation drives, emphasizing the importance of afforestation in combating climate change and promoting biodiversity. Soldiers and civilians together planted a variety of saplings, contributing to the greening of the area.
