Tawi Trekkers J&K Resumes Himalayan Trekking Programme with St. Xavier Students

Jammu: After a hiatus of few weeks Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier trekking organisation of J&K resumed its Dharamshala Himalayan Trekking Programme today with 44 students including 34 girls of St Xavier Senior Secondary School, Barnai, Jammu, leaving for Dharamshala to participate in the prestigious adventure activity. The group being led by President of Tawi Trekkers Shawetica Khajuria and Vikas Singh, a senior member also includes two teachers of the school namely Sukanshi Sharma and Bharti Dubey. During their sojourn in Dharamshala area the trekkers would visit Mcleodganj, Chamunda, Dalai Lama Temple, the headquarters of Tibetan Government in exile; Bhagshunag, Water fall, Dharamkot, popularly called mini Israel; Gallu temple, the beautiful Dharamshala stadium, Norbulinga Monastery and Tapovan besides Nagini Devi enroute their return journey to Jammu. However, the special attraction of the programme is a visit to a sprawling tea garden and a tea manufacturing company where the students shall learn the complete process of production of tea. Earlier, the group was flagged off by Mridhu Padha, Vice Principal of St. Xavier Sr. Secondary School, Jammu in the presence of Shawetica Khajuria, President of Tawi Trekkers J&K, staff of the school and a large number of parents of the participants.
The next group comprising students of Oriental Academy Sr. Secondary School shall leave for the trek on 9th June followed by other groups of The Shri Ram Universal School, Govt College for Women, Parade, Jammu, Aryan Oriental Convent Higher Secondary School, Udhampur and some oher institutions.
