Dogra Degree College organises educational visit to JKEDI for BBA, BA, B.Com students

The Institutional Innovation Cell of Dogra Degree College, organized an educational visit cum interactive session at JKEDI today on the 28th of May 2024 for the students of BBA /BA/B.Com semester 2nd to make the students aware of innovation and start-up programs in J&K. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness and gain potential practical exposure for the students about incubation centers and startups. Dr. Vinod & Mr. Sourab Mengi were the resource persons for the event. The program started with the presentation of Saplings to the resource persons.
The First session included a visit to the Incubation center at JKEDI in which around 40 students participated. Mr Sourabh Mengi took the students and visiting faculty for an elaborate tour of the JKEDI Incubation Center wherein the students were briefed that the incubation center and the cubical space facilities were available free of cost for entrepreneurs and also showed the full Incubation Centre to the students to make the students familiar with the facilities available there. The primary objective of the incubation center is to provide a platform for conceiving, realizing, promoting, and nurturing knowledge based on innovation and entrepreneurship among all aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Second session included a lecture on “The Overview of Self Employment Schemes in J&K, JK Startup Policy “by Dr. Vinod. He gave a brief of JKEDI, their services, and self-employment schemes in the Union Territory of J&K such as DIC PMEGP, Mumkin, Spurring, and Tejaswani Entrepreneurship initiatives. Mr. Sourab enlightened the students about the Jammu and Kashmir Startup Policy 2024-2027 to nurture and inspire the young entrepreneurial brains of J&K to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship fostering a vibrant and conducive startup ecosystem.
The program concluded with the presentation of a Vote of thanks by Ms. Amanpreet Kaur, Co-convener Institutional Innovation Cell, DDC. Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, appreciated the efforts of IIC for organizing such an event to equip the students with the knowledge of startups and innovation schemes in J&K.
The whole program was ably conducted under the supervision of Ms Rachana Devi, Convener, IIC ably assisted by Mr. Ashish Thakur, Ms. Monika and Ms. Amarpreet Kaur, Faculty DDC.
