NEW DELHI, May 23
InterGlobe Aviation Limited, which runs IndiGo airline, on Thursday reported a profit of Rs 1894.82 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024, posting a growth of 106.1 per cent in comparison to Rs 919.20 crore during the fourth quarter of FY23. It recorded revenue from operations at Rs 17,825.27 crore, up 25.9 per cent as against Rs 14,160.60 crore during the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal year. The company EBITDA stood at Rs 4412.3 crore, up 48.7 per cent on-year. Excluding foreign exchange loss, profit amounted to Rs 2060.20 crore compared to profit of Rs 666.40 crore. While the total income for the quarter was at Rs 18,505.10 crore,up 26.7 per cent YoY, total expenses incurred by the company during the period came in at Rs 16,734.10 crore, up 22.3 per cent over the same period last year.
For the quarter, the passenger ticket revenues were at Rs 15600.90 crore, up 25.5 per cent and ancillary revenues were at Rs 1719.40 crore, up 18.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. During the quarter in review, IndoGo’s capacity increased by 14.4 per cent to 34.8 billion, and passengers increased by 14 per cent to 26.7 million
“IndiGo delivered another quarter of strong financial performance led by a range of initiatives and supported by a favorable external environment. For the quarter ended March 2024, IndiGo reported a net profit of Rs 1894.82 crore,” the company said in a regulatory filing. Pieter Elbers, CEO, said, “FY24 has been a year of many remarkable achievements and milestones. For the full financial year 2024, we reported our highest ever total income of around Rs 712 billion with a net profit of around Rs 82 billion and a net profit margin of 11.9 per cent. The 4th quarter financial results were positive, making it all four quarters in FY24 profitable. The strong execution of our strategy has yielded consistent results for us as we achieved the targets that we had set for ourselves as a team at the beginning of the year. My sincere gratitude to our 107 million customers for placing their trust in us and to all my IndiGo colleagues for their great work and relentless dedication.” In terms of network and fleet, IndiGo said that as of 31st March 2024, it has a fleet of 367 aircraft including 31 A320 CEOs, 192 A320 NEOs, 94 A321 NEOs, 45 ATRs, 3 A321 freighters and 2 B777 (damp lease); which is a net increase of 9 passenger aircraft during the quarter.
IndiGo operated at a peak of 2,021 daily flights during the quarter including non-scheduled flights. It provided scheduled services to 88 domestic destinations and 30 international destinations during the period.
