Congress Seva Dal paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 33rd martyrdom day.
Describing him as a visionary and a leader of the people, Congress Seva Dal President Vijay Sharma Babbi said that he was a visionary leader who laid the foundation of modern India. The credit for taking the country to new heights in terms of communication, science technology, education, health infrastructure and defense goes to Rajiv Gandhi. He introduced the Panchayati Raj system, which proved to be a great source of employment generation for the common people at the grassroots level. Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution in the progress of the country will always be remembered. On this occasion, three leaders, Ajaz Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Amin Ganai and Shabbir Ahmed Dar, who left Congress and joined other political parties, also returned home. Vijay Sharma said that today the countrymen have come to know that Congress is the only party that can take the country on the path of development and maintain communal harmony. On this occasion, Dara Singh, Gulzar Ahmed Hamam, Faiyaz Ahmed Malik and other members of Congress Seva Dal were present.
