The Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) embarked on a significant endeavor on the 23rd of April 2024, as they continued their signature campaign at Pacca Danga near the old post office in Jammu. The campaign aimed to address the longstanding demand for a Satellite Duggar Channel, drawing support from a diverse array of individuals and communities in the region.
The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, with enthusiastic participation from numerous youngsters and people from various communities who rallied behind the cause by adding their signatures in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel. This overwhelming response underscored the widespread recognition of the importance of preserving the cultural heritage, arts, and languages of the Duggar Pradesh region.
DADAA’s efforts in organizing the signature campaign were widely appreciated by the attendees, who acknowledged the association’s dedication to safeguarding the interests of artists and promoting the rich cultural tapestry of the region. The campaign was seen not only as a means to advocate for the establishment of the Satellite Duggar Channel but also as a testament to the collective resolve to uphold and promote the cultural identity of the Dogras. Addressing the gathered audience, J.S. Babli, the President of DADAA, expressed determination to continue the struggle until the objective of securing the Satellite Duggar Channel is achieved. He called upon all Dogras to unite in this noble endeavor, emphasizing the significance of collective action in realizing the shared aspiration of having a dedicated platform to showcase the cultural wealth of the region.
Furthermore, Babli urged other organizations to lend their support and raise their voices in solidarity with the cause of the Satellite Duggar Channel. He emphasized the importance of amplifying the demand through collective advocacy efforts to garner the attention and support necessary for its realization. The signature campaign garnered notable support from prominent personalities within the artistic community and beyond. Notable figures such as Madan Rangila, Janak Khajuria, Kamal Sharma, Rajinder Narang, Harbans Sharma, S. Kumar, M.P. Sharma, Lalita Tapasvi, and Padma Shri awardee Balwant Thakur were among those present, lending their voices and influence to the cause.
Looking ahead, DADAA announced plans to continue the signature campaign, with the next event scheduled to take place at Subhash Nagar Rehari in Jammu on the 30th of April 2024. The association appealed to the residents of Jammu, affectionately referred to as Jammites, to extend their wholehearted support for this noble cause, emphasizing the importance of every individual’s contribution in shaping the destiny of the region’s cultural legacy.
