Amidst the solemnity of Good Friday and the jubilation of Easter Sunday, the Jammu & Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship orchestrated a remarkable peace procession, resonating with the profound significance of these holy days in the Christian faith. On the eve of Good Friday, 29th March 2024, and Easter Sunday, 31st March 2024, believers and communities from various churches in Jammu and its environs came together to commemorate the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The procession, marked by a confluence of devout participants, showcased vivid depictions of the pivotal events of Good Friday and Easter. Elaborately crafted trollies depicted scenes of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, evoking profound contemplation among onlookers. The haunting portrayal of Jesus carrying the cross, juxtaposed with the solemnity of His sacrifice, drew the attention and reverence of all present. Additionally, reenactments of the events surrounding His persecution by Roman soldiers served as poignant reminders of His enduring message of love, sacrifice, and redemption.
Amidst the solemnity, choirs from participating churches lent their voices to the procession, filling the air with hymns and songs that narrated the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These melodic renditions resonated deeply with attendees, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the procession and reinforcing the profound significance of the occasion.
The heartwarming response from the community underscored the success of the procession, with attendees expressing appreciation for every facet of the event. The warm reception extended by market associations, who welcomed the rally at multiple junctures and provided refreshments, further exemplified the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity prevalent among the participants.
The remarkable success of the peace procession was a testament to the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, led by esteemed leaders including Rev. Shoukat Peter, Pastor Musraf Bhatti, Rev. Robin Bhatti, and numerous others. Their tireless dedication and collective vision brought to life a meaningful and impactful event that united believers from diverse backgrounds in a shared expression of faith and reverence.
As the procession culminated, the President of the Jammu & Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship extended heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
