Dogra Law College hosts insightful discussion on 3 New Criminal Laws in India

Dogra Law College hosted the esteemed gathering of legal luminaries, scholars, and students, who engaged in insightful discussions on the introduction of three New Criminal Laws in India.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Mukund Tibrewal (IPS), SDPO, Bari- Brahmana, Samba, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Tibrewal shared valuable insights into the significance and implications of the newly introduced criminal laws, shedding light on their potential impact on the Indian legal landscape.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, (former Minister of Higher Education, J&K) and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust, emphasized the importance of legal reforms in fostering a more just and equitable society. He lauded the efforts towards the introduction of the three new laws, recognizing their role in addressing contemporary challenges in the criminal justice system.
Ramnik Bali, Assistant Professor and Programme Facilitator at Dogra Law College, set the stage for the discussions by introducing the topic and providing a brief overview of the legal reforms in question.
Five students, namely Danish Tak, Zara, Kajal, Bhoomi and Dhanyata, from the BA.LLB (5 Years) and LLB (3 Years) programs, presented their papers on the topic. Their presentations were marked by thorough research, critical analysis, and innovative insights into the subject matter.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions, Bhoomi secured the first position, followed by Dhanyata in the second position, and Zara in the third position. Their commendable efforts were applauded by the audience and faculty members alike. The event was further graced by the presence of Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of Dogra Educational Trust, who extended his unwavering support and encouragement to the participants. The program concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks delivered by Arushi Khajuria, Senior Lecturer, and Convener of the Co-Curricular Committee at Dogra Law College. She expressed her gratitude to all the participants, guests, and organizers for making the event a resounding success.
Overall, the paper presentation served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and reflection on the evolving landscape of criminal justice in India, paving the way for future endeavors in legal scholarship and advocacy.
