In a strategic move aimed at bolstering the party’s presence in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Mr. Zulfikar Ali Mumtaz as the Vice President of the Minority Morcha for the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory unit.
As per an official order issued by Mr. Ravinder Raina, President of the BJP’s J&K unit, Mr. Mumtaz’s appointment to this significant role comes into immediate effect. The decision was made in consultation with Mr. Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization).
Hailing from the Mendhar area of Poonch district, Mr. Mumtaz hails from a prominent political family deeply rooted in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri. He enjoys widespread popularity among the people of Poonch, particularly in the Mendhar area.
Beyond his affiliation with the BJP, Mr. Mumtaz has been actively involved in advocating for the Scheduled Tribe status for the Pahari Ethnic Community, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare and upliftment of marginalized groups.
Expressing his gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting him with this significant responsibility, Mr. Mumtaz affirmed his dedication to strengthening the BJP’s presence in Poonch and Rajouri. He pledged to work tirelessly with unwavering commitment to further the party’s objectives in the region.
