Five-day faculty development programme on ‘Digital Marketing’ begins at Dogra Degree College

The Dogra Degree, Law & College of Education, in collaboration with ICT Academy (an initiative of the Government of India, State Government, and Industries), organized a Five-Day Faculty Development Program on “Digital Marketing” from March 18th to March 22nd, 2024.
The program commenced with an inaugural-cum-technical session conducted by Chief Guest Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust. Among the notable attendees were Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of Dogra Educational Trust, Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator of Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, and Dr. Vikesh Sharma, Principal of Dogra College of Education.
Resource persons included Aditya Jha, Technical Trainer from Training and Development at ICT Academy, Adil Yousaf, Senior Technical Trainer at ICT Academy, and Dr. Samiksha Suri, Senior Technical Trainer at ICT Academy.
The session commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries, followed by a welcome address from Shivali Mehta, Faculty at Dogra Educational Trust.
Ajaz Yousaf, Relationship Manager at ICT Academy, Jammu and Kashmir, introduced the program, highlighting its aim to equip faculty members with essential skills and knowledge for designing and implementing effective outcome-based learning strategies. He emphasized the program’s role in enhancing digital marketing skills and improving overall education quality.
The Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust underscored the significance of ICT in education, emphasizing its role in facilitating access, inclusion, and quality education. He stressed the importance of recognizing and appreciating best practices in technology usage and the necessity of organizing faculty development programs to enhance technology’s effective use in education. The technical session with Aditya Jha provided an overview of the upcoming sessions. He discussed how digital marketing has transformed advertising, offering businesses unprecedented opportunities to engage with their target audience. Jha elaborated on various digital marketing modules, including social media, search engines, email, and websites. The day concluded with Priyanka Sharma extending a formal vote of thanks to the resource persons for sharing their insights. The National Anthem marked the conclusion of the day’s proceedings.
