The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government at the Centre has faced severe criticism for its inability to fulfill the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This UnionTerritory, grappling with the challenges of terrorism, price hikes, and inflation, has witnessed a sharp decline in the quality of life under the current administration.
This was stated by Sunil Verma, District President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Udhampur, while addressing a one-day convention of Block Jib Thathi, which was attended by a massive gathering of party workers and the general public. The senior NC leader Verma vehemently denounced the inefficiency of the BJP Government in addressing the aspirations and needs of the people. He highlighted the growing miseries faced by the common man, emphasizing their multiplying burden with each passing day.
Sunil Verma asserted that the National Conference is the only party capable of safeguarding the future of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. A united effort is required to strengthen the party at all levels. Verma emphasized the crucial role of party cadre in exposing the anti-people measures, particularly those affecting the youth, implemented by the BJP Government, which have further exacerbated the hardships faced by the populace.
He criticized the J&K BJP leadership for its failure to protect the land and job rights of Jammu and Kashmir people.
In an impassioned appeal to the people of Udhampur district, Verma urged them to rally around Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, supporting the National Conference in the upcoming elections. He believed that such support will ensure equitable development for Jammu and Kashmir and the overall welfare of its people, he added.
The convention witnessed the presence of prominent leaders, including Sardar Gurmeet Singh Josh, Channa Ram Sethi, Capt Balbir Singh, Abdul Rashid, Manmohan Verma, Om Parkash, Capt Rattan Singh, Akash Verma, Sanjay Verma, Sunita Mehra, Kuldeep Sarpanch, Kishore Sadhotra, Sajad Ahmed, Sudesh Kumar, Mohd Qasim Teli, Irshad Ali, Sham Lal, Jatin Sharma, and others.
