The stellar performance of the NCC cadets from the 2 J&K Girls NCC Bn at the 46th Annual Athletic Meet held at Jammu University showcased the indomitable spirit and athletic prowess of these young women. Competing against over 80 colleges, their exemplary display of dedication, determination, and disciplined training propelled them to the forefront of the competition.
The triumph of GCW Udhampur, emerging as the top contender in the event, underscored the invaluable contribution of NCC cadets towards their success. Cadet Mettali Rajput’s outstanding performance, clinching a silver medal in the 4×100 relay race and a bronze in the 200m race, exemplified the caliber and athleticism of the NCC contingent from Udhampur.
Furthermore, Cadet Simran’s gold in the 400m race, along with silver in the 4x100m relay race, and Cadet Smriti’s silver medal in the 4×400 relay race, epitomized the depth of talent and commitment within the GCW Udhampur NCC unit.
Similarly, from GDC Kathua, Cadet Monika, Cadet Deepika, and Cadet Banita’s bronze medal in the 4x100m relay race, and Cadet Kajal Devi’s bronze in Shot Put, underscored the widespread impact and contribution of NCC cadets across various disciplines.
At GCW Parade College, Cadet Shagun Bassan’s gold medal in the 5km race and bronze in Discus Throw, Cadet Neha Sharma’s bronze in the 1500m race, and Cadet Janvi Chib’s bronze in long jump, reflected the breadth of talent and versatility among the NCC ranks.
The presence of Brig P S Cheema, SM, VSM, Group Cdr, NCC GP HQ Jammu, as the Guest of Honour, added prestige to the event and highlighted the pivotal role of the NCC in nurturing sporting excellence.
