JAMMU, Mar 6
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday said that BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi focused on gender equality and giving extraordinary momentum to the women empowerment in the country.
He was addressing a programme organized under BJP’s ongoing Nari Shakti Vandan by Trikuta Nagar Mandal of Bahu Constituency here at Gorkha Nagar. The party activists first listened to the live broadcast of PM Narendra Modi’s speech, which he made at West Bengal.
Kavinder said that in the last nearly ten years, Modi government has achieved a significant milestone in which numerous reforms and policy initiatives were implemented to enhance the lives of women and elevate their social standing.
“Whether it was women beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana, crores of Jan Dhan accounts, special fixed deposit schemes, MUDRA loans to women, or Mission Poshan, each of these programmes introduced by the Modi government played a vital role in empowering women”, he said adding that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Mahila Samridhi Schemes also holds much significance in the effort to give social prowess to the women-folk.
Kavinder said that this is just a tip of an iceberg because to explain comprehensively the role played by the Modi Government in empowering women and ensuring gender equality needs a voluminous account, which is not possible to explain in such a short span of time. He said that the women playing lead roles in various fields today is reflection of the emergence of strong women leaders, which is the testimony to the gender parity being realized in the past few years under the Modi rule.
“Women empowerment has been a top priority of PM Modi’s leadership as his directional guidance has remained pivotal in steering the nation from just women development to women-led development”, he said, adding that the support of women, which the BJP is relishing today across the length and breadth of the country is all because of PM Modi’s revolutionary steps to empower women.
Karuna Chhetri Vice President, Bharti Sagotra Gen Sec Mahila Morcha, Kamlesh Mangotra Mandal President, Anil Kumar Booth President, Indu Puri, Monika Khosla, Sunny Sagotra, Sajan Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vijay, Durga Singh and Ram Pal were also present.
